Design Thinking to Up Your Game


Are you curious about Design Thinking or the user-centered design approach that has helped solve 'wicked' customer and business problems and produced many of the latest innovations across industries? In this session, you will have a chance to see how individuals just like you combine creative and analytical thinking to contribute to the big ideas that become new and improved experiences. Experienced design thinking practitioners will share a structured process to spur creative problem solving and energize teams. This session will include a hands-on activity that reflects what some organizations are doing in order to create the user-centered experiences of the future.

About our Speakers:  

Desirae Chamblin is a Senior User Experience Strategist at Navy Federal Credit Union. In her role, she develops user-centered design strategies and leads the planning and execution of cross-functional, strategic workshops that combine creative and analytical thinking to produce innovative Member and Team Member experiences. Prior to Navy Federal, Desirae worked at The Nielsen Company in various roles supporting Application Development and Corporate IT, including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, SQA Manager, and QA Engineer. Desirae earned an Executive MBA from the University of South Florida, and a Bachelors in Computer Science from Florida Southern College. She is also a certified LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt and has 2 certifications in Design Thinking.

Daniel (Dan) Irwin is a Senior User Experience Strategist at Navy Federal Credit Union, helping teams collaborate better to build great products and services. Dan brings more than 20 years of experience in digital communication, human computer interaction, and UX research. Prior to working at Navy Federal, Dan supported a major Scaled Agile transformation for the US Department of Veterans Affairs, supported a range of interactive UX research projects for the National Institutes of Health, served as lead UX researcher at Freddie Mac, and built an interactive communications department at CSC. (Now DXC Technologies).
