Working Remotely: Cultural and Practical Advice and Tips

Message to our Members:

Your safety matters. In response to growing concerns around COVID-19, we are moving this month’s chapter event to a remote format. Also, to address our new working conditions, the subject of or event is now “Working Remotely: Cultural and Practical Advice and Tips”. This event is open to everyone at no charge.

If you paid the one-time event fee, we will work with you to exchange that for a free event in the future. Email Membership@iibadc.org and we can work with you at that time in the future.

Event Description:

Join us on our maiden voyage holding a virtual session of the IIBA DC chapter event. This event is free and open to everyone on the mailing list and the slides will be posted for all to see.

Many of us are now working remotely in this day of COVID-19 and wish to flatten the curve to keep ourselves and our neighbors healthy. Perhaps many of us have never worked remotely or just need a refresher on how to do this effectively.

This session will focus on:

  • Cultural reminders to keep in mind (since the 80% visual cues aren’t in front of us now)
  • Online presence
  • Web meeting etiquette
  • Home office setup
  • Tools to use

We’ll use the chat function in Zoom for us all to share out tips with each other.

We’ll see if breakout rooms work for small discussions, and then share what we learned.

Schedule:
