The IIBA DC Chapter is launching a CBAP® study group for members interested in pursuing the IIBA CBAP certification.

This is an intensive, long-term study group that aims to provide a structured, collaborative environment for serious, committed CBAP® exam preparation and study. This group would also be appropriate for anyone seeking the CCBA® certification.

See the information below and in the companion PDF if you are interested in joining us.

 Study Group Goals &   Objectives

To prepare for and pass the IIBA CBAP® certification exam

    · through a structured, collaborative, participative, and supportive group environment that provides accountability

    · by mastering the BABOK® terminology, structure, Core Concepts and Themes, Knowledge Areas, Tasks, Underlying Competencies,

  Techniques, and Perspectives

    · by gaining clarity and deeper insights into specific BABOK® areas that are crucial to CBAP®

    · by using practice drills and exercises, discussion, and other group activities

  · Participants must be current members in good standing of the IIBA and/or the IIBA DC Chapter.

  · Participants must be willing to make a serious commitment to attend the sessions for the duration of the study group, to prepare for each session, and to invest an estimated 6-10 hours in additional study time per week

  · IIBA and/or IIBA DC Chapter membership dues, if not already a member.

  · Each member is required to purchase the Watermark Learning CBAP® Certification Study Guide and access to the Watermark Learning online practice exam (either individually or shared with other group members).

 Participant   Commitment  and   Responsibility

  · All participants agree to be accountable to other study group members regarding these commitments.

  · All participants are expected to read the respective Study Guide and BABOK® chapters and other study materials assigned prior to the respective meeting. Participants who display an extended (i.e. > 2 weeks) history of not being prepared may be removed from the study group.

  · The Watermark Learning CBAP® Certification Study Guide v3.0 is required. It is each individual's responsibility to purchase the guide.

  · All participants are expected read the assigned material prior to each session and to contribute to the discussions and exercises in the study group. This is a participative endeavor.

  · All participants are expected to study an additional 6 – 10 hours per week outside of the study group meetings.

  · Participants must print session materials, if hard copy is desired, since printed materials are not provided.

  · No discussion about the validity of BABOK® information. The CBAP® is based on BABOK® terminology and concepts. Our goal is to pass the exam.

  · Discussions not directly related to the BABOK® and/or CBAP® Certification should be held outside of the study group sessions.
