Description:

After the public launch of a billion dollar campaign, the George Washington’s University Division of Development and Alumni Relations knew they had to up their game to reach this goal by 2018. While efforts to support staff in advancing campaign priorities were under way, the division was also going through multiple forms of planned and unplanned organizational change. Within a year after the public launch, the division had experienced new executive leadership, an office move, increased teleworking, budget restraints, a reduction in force, and divisional restructuring. This session will explore the development of these organizational changes with a focus on the successes as well as pit falls in managing multiple forms of change at the same time.

Speaker:

Mae Cooper is a Learning and Development Specialist at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In this role, she manages training programs, team building, and organizational development for over 200 staff in the division of Development and Alumni Relations. She holds a Masters of Education in Community Development from Vanderbilt University and has a passion for bringing collaborative, interactive, and strategic interventions to help nonprofits address organizational challenges.  She has also volunteered for over 10 years with CISV, an international organization that seeks to educate and inspire for a more just and peaceful world. In this role, she has led trainings and coordinated service-learning projects in Japan, Guatemala, Brazil, and across the US.

Can't make it this month?

We meet approximately every month, either the second or third Wednesday of the month. So if you can't make it this month, hopefully we'll see you at the next meetup. Also, if you have an idea, game, workshop, or story to share with the group, then please contact the organizer to setup a presentation for a future meeting.
